The Conference Hotel
The SCCIA has reserved a block of rooms at Mills House. Please reserve your room early. the SCCIA rate is $319 per night plus a destination fee of $24 and taxes. The Mills House website quotes a fee of $36 per night; this is incorrect but the hotel is unable to change it. The correct destination fee is $24. Please be sure that this is the amount charged when you check out.

Captive Academy

New to the Captive Industry or just need a refresher? Register for Captive Academy on September 28. Sponsored by Strategic Risk Solutions.

This interactive seminar covers definitions and types of captives and the benefits and requirements of each type. Attendees will learn why and when to consider captives and the differences in captive, self-insurance and traditional insurance.

The research, establishment and management of a captive will be covered as well as reporting requirements for the regulator and owners. Attendees will learn about the pre-feasibility study, stakeholder education, strategies, funding, capital and collateral requirements, banking, investments, attorneys’ roles, and ownership structure.

Each SCCIA service provider member is allotted a complimentary Captive Academy registration for a representative from a captive insurance company that is a prospective member of the SCCIA. This is the perfect way to introduce your client or prospective client to the SCCIA, South Carolina state regulators, and similarly situated professionals. Contact the SCCIA office to register.

Early Bird Registration ends June 30

Special Offer for Captive Owners - BOGO for Captive Owners: The 1st captive owner pays the regular registration rate ($595) and the registration for the 2nd owner from the same organization is comped. Those eligible for this captive owner special registration are defined as employees of the parent corporation that currently is insured by a captive or is considering forming a captive. Captive management firms that sponsor/own cell captives do not qualify.
